The University has planned to strengthen its relationship with the industry by making sure that the industry is involved in the delivery of the core functions of the university. The University though the HEET project shall establish Industry Advisory Committees (IACs). The aim of establishing the IACs is to oversee involvement of industry in academia in order to ensure alignment of the academia products (offered degree programs and research results) to labour market needs.

In implementing this focus area, the following activities are conducted (i) Development of various guidelines to support the linkage with industry in the areas of industry advisory committees; staff and students in industry; collaborations with industry in applied research and innovations; outreach services; development and delivery of degree programs; and Management and usage of training infrastructures; (ii) provide industry attachment to staff and students; and (ii) conduct open strategic dialogue.
