In this focus area the University is geared to implement the following: one, developing online learning platforms and digital technology applications (including selecting and customizing Moodle based learning platforms. This includes Customization of Moodle platform (requirement generation, customization, testing and training); Customization of MOOC platform Educational Resources (OER); and Implementation of administrative digital technologies (ARIS, Travel permit, OPRAS, Students' Practical Training (PT) system, Staff Promotion system, Research Information Management System (RIMS), Email systems). Two, establishing state-of-the-art ICT infrastructure and equipment. This includes revamping the existing network infrastructure including the restructuring of the server rooms, replace some of the inter-building fiber connections, replace termination rooms at college levels, vertical cabling, horizontal cabling (LAN), and densification of the wireless access points to improve Internet accessibilities at the University. Finally, capacity building in the development of online and ODL learning and pedagogy. This includes training of academic staff and technicians/technologists inside the country in multimedia technologies and instructional design; Training of staff on instructional, multimedia, web and mobile and assistive technologies; Integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning methods with GIS for  environmental engineering and technology; training of technical and academic staff  on using LMS Moodle and Postgraduate Management Information System; and Train (retool) academic and technical staff on emerging technologies on water and sanitation technologies.
